Pamper your oily skin
Oily skin is recognizable by its shiny appearance, often uneven skin texture, and enlarged pores. The overproduction of sebum that distinguishes this skin type, however, makes it more supple and less prone to signs of aging. But oily skin is also prone to the development of pimples, blackheads, and acne. To rebalance and cleanse the epidermis, a course of dietary supplements, specific skincare products, and a suitable diet are recommended.
Regulate sebum production from within
Oily skin is also shiny and prone to imperfections due to the excess sebum it produces. To reduce this overproduction, a
skin food supplement treatment is recommended, but not just any. Choose a zinc-enriched food supplement. Perfectly suited to oily skin, zinc helps maintain normal skin and protect cells against oxidative stress. These benefits are also found in plant extracts such as Burdock and Nettle. In addition to purifying the skin, the active ingredients contained in Nettle extracts. To optimize the effects of the treatment, respect its duration. Also adopt a healthy lifestyle and eat more
fruits and vegetables .
Pamper your skin with appropriate gestures and treatments
Although it's less fragile than dry skin, oily skin remains sensitive and therefore requires special care. To pamper it every day, adopt a good routine that consists of:
— Gently cleanse the skin with gentle products. Whether you choose a superfatted soap bar or a dermatological soap, make sure it doesn't contain soap or alcohol to avoid damaging the skin and further stimulating sebum production.
Oily skin should be cleansed twice a day: morning and evening, to also remove impurities accumulated during the day.
— deeply moisturize the skin. To avoid overloading it, ideally opt for a treatment with a light, mattifying texture thanks to blotting active ingredients that effectively absorb excess sebum.
Oily skin tends to clog up faster than other skin types. To purify it without damaging it, Biocyte recommends
Cucumber Mask® . This product from the Biocyte skin range helps
fight against imperfections . Thanks to Tea Tree oil, Cucumber Mask® is ideal for
purifying blemish-prone skin . Rich in active ingredients, this mask helps to even out skin texture, mattify the complexion and cleanse the skin. Its support in natural Bio-cellulose fibers gives the mask a second-skin effect. To
treat oily skin , Biocyte has developed this treatment in
a Cucumber Mask® Box of 4 Masks version.
Once a week, it's also highly recommended to exfoliate your skin. Use a treatment specifically designed for oily skin. Complete the exfoliation with a green clay mask, known for its sebum-regulating properties.
Be careful, it can be tempting to regularly exfoliate oily skin to cleanse it and make it matte. But this practice is more harmful than beneficial. Exfoliating too frequently actually promotes a rebound effect. To protect itself from this aggression—which exfoliation promotes in this case—the skin produces even more sebum.
Maintain oily skin with fruits and vegetables
Because they are rich in vitamins and minerals, certain foods are particularly recommended for people with oily skin. For example, opt for:
— watercress, cabbage, tomatoes and carrots, which contain vitamins A, E and beta-carotene, among other things.
— oily fish, nuts, rapeseed oil and spinach, which are rich in omega 3.
— poultry, grains, and soybeans, which are excellent sources of vitamin B6. This vitamin plays an important role in regulating sebum production.
Vitamin A promotes skin health, while beta-carotene helps the body absorb it. Vitamin E and omega-3 can help protect skin from the harmful effects of free radicals.
To prevent oily skin from secreting too much sebum, eat as few fatty and processed foods as possible, such as pizza, hamburgers, and ready meals. Fatty or fried foods, sodas, and sweets should also be limited as much as possible, or even banned altogether. On a daily basis, opt for homemade meals prepared with fresh, quality ingredients.
