How to lose weight with a Keto diet?
Losing weight by consuming more fat may seem like a crazy idea, but it's not. In fact, this is the concept behind the keto diet. It involves increasing your fat intake and reducing your carbohydrate consumption as much as possible. A course of dietary supplements also accompanies the change in eating habits to optimize the diet's benefits for the body.

Rethinking your eating habits
To promote weight loss, the Keto diet goes against the usual recommended eating habits. It encourages you to consume the equivalent of
70 to 80% fat and 20 to 25% protein per day. Carbohydrate intake is reduced as much as possible, with a maximum of 50 grams per day. Carbohydrate restriction forces the body to break down stored fat and convert it into ketone bodies such as acetoacetate, among others, and use them as energy sources.
To reach this stage, certain foods in particular should be favored on a daily basis. These include:
— Poultry: such as chicken, turkey and duck, which are readily eaten with their skin on.
— Fatty fish such as salmon, herring and sardines.
— Meats such as pork, veal – to be stewed –, pork ribs and loins, lamb chops and beef entrecôtes.
— Delicatessen meats including sausages and hams.
— Mature cheeses, eggs and nuts such as pistachios, almonds and hazelnuts.
— Seeds naturally rich in lipids such as flax, sunflower or chia seeds.
— Tofu, as well as sour cream and butter – which contain short- and medium-chain fatty acids – can also be consumed daily.
To compensate for the low water intake from food, it is recommended to drink 1.5 to 2 liters of water per day.
Dark chocolate, yogurts, and fresh cheeses should be consumed in moderation. Menus will also include 150g of vegetables per day. As for fruit, only watermelon, papaya, lemon, and berries are permitted.
Prohibited foods include carbohydrate-rich foods such as breads and cereals, dough-based preparations such as quiches and pizzas, sweet products such as pastries and biscuits, and sweetened beverages, whether carbonated or natural. Breaded fish and meats are also prohibited.
Why adopt the keto diet?
This diet not only helps suppress appetite, but also reduces fat stores. It also helps lower blood sugar levels and increase the body's sensitivity to insulin. The ketogenic diet also requires its followers to limit processed foods to avoid traces of carbohydrates in store-bought foods. It therefore helps promote healthier eating habits.
The ketogenic diet also allows for the consumption of fatty cheeses, oily fish, and meats, which have the advantage of being more flavorful. The permitted foods also allow for variety in preparation. Fried foods, gratins, and sauces are permitted throughout the diet.
