Comment lutter contre la fatigue après les fêtes ?

No energy after holiday? How to restore your vitality quickly

How to fight fatigue after the end-of-year holidays?

The holidays are over, and for the past few days, life has been returning to normal. But all those family reunions and hearty meals have left you exhausted. How can you explain this feeling, and what can you do to quickly get back in shape and start the year off on the right foot?

Stress and anxiety related to the festivities

The holiday season is synonymous with family gatherings, festivities, and delicious meals. But as unforgettable as they may be, these celebrations, or rather their organization, can be particularly depressing. Once back in the daily routine, it's not uncommon to feel tired, sometimes significantly, known as jetlag or family jet lag, a term that's little known today. As unusual as it may seem, post-holiday fatigue is comparable to the fatigue our bodies experience after an intercontinental flight lasting several hours. The parties and various activities organized to properly mark the end of the year are said to be the cause of significant stress and feelings of anxiety. Beyond the physical exertion, the pressure we put on ourselves, consciously or not, to create the perfect Christmas is also said to be the cause of this fatigue at the end of the festivities.

Get back in shape quickly with exercises

To quickly get back on your feet and eliminate stress, practice a few simple physical exercises, not necessarily in the gym, but at home with a few movements to stretch your muscles. To promote digestion, lie on your back with your arms crossed and bring your bent legs to your chest before gently releasing them to the side. Turn your head in the opposite direction to your legs and stay in this position for a few seconds. Then lie on the floor with your legs straight and bend your right knee. Place your right foot against your left knee. Then place your left arm against your right knee. Rotate your torso to the right. Repeat the same movements, but in the other direction. For those who are not really used to it, the exercise may seem complex. But as indicated by the magazine Femme Actuelle on its website , this succession of postures effectively stimulates the digestion process.

The Plow, or Halasana, is the ideal flexibility exercise to get back into shape. Start by lying on your back with your legs perfectly together and your hands flat on the floor. While inhaling and exhaling deeply, gently raise your legs without bending them and point the tips of your feet toward the sky. Lift your hips off the floor. Place your hands on your lower back for support. Redirect your straight legs forward to return to the starting position. Repeat these movements several times. The Plow exercise is extremely beneficial for the body's muscles. It stretches the spine and relaxes the shoulders and neck. It is also said to have beneficial effects on the functioning of the kidneys and stomach.

Foods to favor after the holidays

After the holidays, a detox is often essential. Easily eliminate excess fat still present in the body thanks to the combination of all the essential nutrients your body needs to stay in shape. Consume plenty of fruits, but also vegetables. Green vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, onions, and fennel should be included as frequently as possible in your diet. Rich in potassium and antioxidants, these foods accelerate the toxin elimination process. They can be eaten raw or cooked, depending on your taste. In addition to vegetables, lean meats and fish should be added. Baking and steaming are preferred. Vegetable oils can replace butter and cream.

To detoxify your body, it's important to stay well hydrated. Drink 1.5 to 2 liters of water every day, spread out over the day. You can also replace plain water with herbal teas or infusions.

To fight fatigue, rely on food supplements

To reduce the feeling of fatigue and to boost the immune system, Biocyte offers Liposomal Vitamin C. Flavored with a lemon taste, this dietary supplement is manufactured using microencapsulation technology. It offers better bioavailability of vitamin C and allows for better absorption by the body. You can also opt for the Ester-C Forte dietary supplement , which is rich in non-acidic vitamin C. Its unique formulation is suitable for the fragile digestive system.

To quickly get back in shape after the holidays, you should lighten your diet and do some physical exercise. Dietary supplements will also be of great help.
