What is melatonin used for?

Naturally produced by the epiphysis, also called the pineal gland, melatonin plays an essential role in the sleep cycle. Melatonin secretion triggers the need to fall asleep and helps promote sleep onset. Melatonin production increases when it is dark. In the dark, melatonin secretion increases tenfold. Its secretion begins when light fades, generally peaks between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., and then gradually decreases until waking. The light/dark cycle helps synchronize the sleep/wake cycle. Although melatonin is naturally produced by the body, its secretion can be disrupted. Lifestyles can impact melatonin production, particularly in cases of overexposure to light. Blue light, emitted by computer, television, smartphone and tablet screens, delays the secretion of melatonin, and therefore the desire to sleep.

When to take melatonin?

External melatonin intake, through a Biocyte dietary supplement, can help you fall asleep faster and restore a normal circadian rhythm. Melatonin helps you get a restful sleep so you no longer feel tired upon waking. Taking melatonin may be recommended if you have difficulty falling asleep. Stressed people who have trouble falling asleep and regularly wake up during the night may want to consider a melatonin dietary supplement. Melatonin dietary supplements can also help reduce the time it takes to fall asleep during a trip that involves jet lag. Unlike sleeping pills, melatonin is non-habit forming and can limit the effects of jet lag, which generally result in spontaneous awakening in the middle of the night and periods of drowsiness during the day.

How to take melatonin for sleep?

Melatonin can be provided to the body through a dietary supplement. Biocyte Noctrim Forte is a dietary supplement based on melatonin, inositol, and microencapsulated magnesium, helping to reduce the time it takes to fall asleep. Thanks to a blend of several active ingredients, including vitamin B6 and poppy extract, this melatonin dietary supplement helps restore quality sleep and contributes to normal psychological functions. Non-habit forming and non-drowsy, the melatonin dietary supplement is also available in an innovative format: gummies. Noctrim Forte Gummies are formulated with melatonin and vitamin B6 to help reduce the time it takes to fall asleep. Ideally dosed, each gummy with natural blackberry flavors helps support the nervous system and helps you fall asleep while respecting circadian rhythms. Taking a melatonin supplement should not replace a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Also, be careful not to exceed the recommended daily dose.
